Sam Brower, who wrote one of the definitive works on Warren Jeffs, Prophet’s Prey, is interviewed for Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey, proclaiming that, at one time, “Without a doubt, Short Creek was the most lawless town in America.” The Netflix docu-series takes a multi-pronged approach, telling a broad story of Jeffs’ impact, by speaking both with former FLDS members who survived his reign as prophet to provide insight and emotion and with law enforcement, journalists and other outsiders who provide perspective, context and details from their investigations into Jeffs’ crimes. But some things in life are more important than being happy. It is an impossible dilemma illustrated by the final lines of Jon Krakauer’s Under the Banner of Heaven (the book on which the TV show was based), spoken by DeLoy Bateman, who decided to leave the FLDS after losing his faith: “If you want to know the truth, I think people within the religion-people who live here in Colorado City-are probably happier, on the whole, than people on the outside. “They make you live in fear all of the time.” For many, they saw leaving the faith as a choice between personal integrity or their eternal salvation…and they chose integrity. For some, that catalyst was FLDS leader Warren Jeffs’ forcing young girls into underage marriages or his rigid restrictions on day-to-day activities, appearance and even gun ownership. They were members of the FLDS in the Short Creek area (an FLDS settlement on the Utah-Arizona border, encompassing the towns of Hildale, Utah and Colorado City, Ariz.) and are now telling the stories of the one-atrocity-too-far that finally spurred them to leave the faith and the community they had known for their entire lives. ![]() The new Netflix docu-series about the Fundamentalist Latter-Day Saints Church (FLDS) begins with the people who had had enough. Retrieved March 10, 2021.The last episode of FX’s Under the Banner of Heaven aired this month, and if you find yourself wanting more to watch about the world of fundamentalist Mormonism, Netflix has a new documentary series out, Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey.

I think they recommend 100hr change intervals. I installed an hour meter before i ever started it up and I'm only at 5.5 hours 4 months later. Iwasn't aware you had to change it yearly for the warranty, i thought you just did it by his run. But with such light usage it really hurts to cough up the $80.00 every year for the maintenance kit. After 5 years I'll have enough oil left over from all the maintenance kits to last me another 5 years. I only run the compressor when I'm in the shop (usually on weekends). I only change the oil according to the recommended hours of operation in the manual (I added an hour meter to the compressor when I first installed it) so I only change it about once a year. But not much you can do if you want to keep your 5 year warranty going the full five years. I think this is a huge rip off by Quincy and an even bigger rip off if you compare the price of their Quin Cip oil to other equivalent oils. When I first purchased the compressor I asked the dealer why the maintenance kit was so expensive he said it was because it extends your warranty. He said let me check your account, and came back and said you're right my bad, and sold me the maintenance kit. I told him that they told me in order to keep the 5 year warranty I had to buy the maintenance kit. He said I could purchase the Quincy oil and filters separately a lot cheaper. The new guy at the Quincy dealer at first brought out 2 quarts of Quincy oil and the filter and I told him that in the past they always sold me the maintenance kit. Just picked up my third maintenance kit for $80.00. QT54 has been a great compressor, kind of noisy though.
