![]() ![]() This is going further upstream - The piece passing thru the wall is from the previously empty lug, with the left leg going to the third outlet, and the right leg headed to the compressor. So this is the run to the far outlet, by the door, and then the tee to the reel, and another tee to a second outlet. Starting at the far end meant that tapping into the compressor would be my last step. Mostly this was because I wanted to keep air functional if I needed it during the install (I didn't). I started at the far end of the system and worked back towards the tank. This is the assembly that will feed the ceiling mounted reel.Īlso pre-assembled and mounted all 3 of the outlets. The tee is to allow me a quick connect right at the tank without burning up one of the 3 included outlets. Of course, none of this is the RapidAir stuff - just brass fittings. This is the main valve assembly coming out of the tank. I started out by pre-assembling all of the major subassemblies. I got most of what I asked for, and got the rest of the needed stuff in a couple of trips back to Northern or Home Depot. It was the RapidAir 3/4" system, and a bunch of various fittings and accessories. HA! Fast forward to now and my Christmas list this year consisted of a bunch of part numbers from Northern Tool. I think they recommend 100hr change intervals. I installed an hour meter before i ever started it up and I'm only at 5.5 hours 4 months later. Iwasn't aware you had to change it yearly for the warranty, i thought you just did it by his run. But with such light usage it really hurts to cough up the $80.00 every year for the maintenance kit. After 5 years I'll have enough oil left over from all the maintenance kits to last me another 5 years. I only run the compressor when I'm in the shop (usually on weekends). I only change the oil according to the recommended hours of operation in the manual (I added an hour meter to the compressor when I first installed it) so I only change it about once a year. But not much you can do if you want to keep your 5 year warranty going the full five years. I think this is a huge rip off by Quincy and an even bigger rip off if you compare the price of their Quin Cip oil to other equivalent oils. When I first purchased the compressor I asked the dealer why the maintenance kit was so expensive he said it was because it extends your warranty. He said let me check your account, and came back and said you're right my bad, and sold me the maintenance kit. I told him that they told me in order to keep the 5 year warranty I had to buy the maintenance kit. He said I could purchase the Quincy oil and filters separately a lot cheaper. The new guy at the Quincy dealer at first brought out 2 quarts of Quincy oil and the filter and I told him that in the past they always sold me the maintenance kit. Just picked up my third maintenance kit for $80.00. QT54 has been a great compressor, kind of noisy though.
