8/5/2023 0 Comments Montage water park pay![]() ![]() ![]() We didn’t feel safe for our daughter and I’m glad we trusted our gut. They also told the family behind us their ONE year old had to go down alone and it was fine. Clearly it would be unsafe for her to go down alone as she would not be able to drag her feet to stop. Mind you this is as they were telling others to drag their feet at the end of the hill to stop. After standing in line for 45 minutes, because they clearly sold more tickets than they could provide tubes for, we were told that our 3 year old would need to go down the hill alone. Was told by staff that it was fine and she’d be able to go down with us. Got to the snow tubing area and was told the kiddie mountain was closed, we were concerned because we had a 3 year old who doesn’t meet the height requirements for adults tubing based on the mountains OWN policy. After waiting another 20 minutes, we gave up and Eventually received our tickets via the kiosk. We arrived early and We’re told they were at capacity and we needed to go to customer service. Though it could benefit from a few enhancements, overall, it's great skiing for the price right in the NEPA backyard.Arrived at montage mountain with tickets purchased online. I mainly visit once or twice a year when visiting my parents, but I always look forward to it. Overall, a great PA ski experience, easy to get to right off I-81 and between Wilkes-Barre and Scranton. But hey, if this is my biggest complaint, that's not too bad. You either have to pay for bottled water or get water from a bathroom sink. The one issue with the lodge is there are no water fountains - which to me is a bit ridiculous. I should also say I'm a big fan of Slocum Hollow - a great place to get lunch (good food and reasonably priced), as well as a drink after skiing. I realize lift improvements or replacements can be expensive, and I appreciate that they (relatively) keep their prices down compared to other Pocono resorts, but some kind of lift upgrade would be a huge draw. The lifts are quite slow and while shorter lifts (e.g., the Phoebe quad on the North Face) can be as it is, it'd be great to have a faster bottom-to-top lift (replacing the current Long Haul) as that trip can feel like forever. I mostly ski up in New England now, and Montage doesn't bore, even when compared to larger resorts. It's a great place to progress and build skill, including steeps and moguls. For a relatively small mountain with 20-some trails, there is a good amount of variety - great beginners for those just starting off some fun intermediates with rollings hills top-to-bottom Runaway and Fast Track that give you the full 1000 vertical and the steeps of the North Face trails. They make snow whenever they can and they do an impressive job expanding terrain. Though the winter wasn't ideal, Montage did the best they could to provide a solid snow experience. I grew up skiing at Montage, but got back for a visit this past winter. On our way out we took a ride on the ski lift which was free. I am not sure if I would pay full price on a hot day to go back. We rented the smallest locker for 6.00 for the day. There was plenty of lounge chairs but only because it was not crowded. There was a snack bar in the pool area and a larger food area in the main building that offered pizza, burger, fries, chicken fingers and drinks. There were 3 different slides and a wave pool for the big kids and a water play area with 2 small slides for the little ones. The length of the lazy river was ok, however the width was not large at all. ![]() If the park was crowded it might have changed their minds. Our kids enjoyed the slides because the lines were not long. The day we went was chilly so the park was not crowded. We got the tickets online for 5.00 a piece(reg 24.00). We visited the Montage Mountain Water park on June 10th. ![]()
